FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions About Northern Colorado DJ Service.

Clear answers about DJ/MC coverage, planning, ceremony sound, music requests, travel, and what happens before the wedding.

Do You Serve As The MC?

Yes. Jason handles the announcements, introductions, transitions, and formal-event guidance included in the reception plan. He establishes his MC role through useful announcements; a brief self-introduction is optional. The job is not simply speaking into a microphone. It includes making sure the people involved are ready, the other vendors know what is coming, and guests understand where their attention belongs.

Do You Take Requests?

Yes. Request cards can be placed at tables, and guests bring completed cards to the DJ. Jason often circulates quietly during dinner or another lower-key portion of the reception to point out the cards and talk about music. That gives guests a personal way to offer ideas without a large generic request announcement.

Requests are considered as part of reading the room. They are not promises that a requested song will be played. The couple’s preferences, do-not-play choices, the moment, and the guests on the floor all matter.

Do We Need To Choose Every Song?

No. Couples should identify the music that defines their taste, the songs attached to formal moments, their highest-priority requests, and anything they do not want. That gives Jason useful direction while preserving enough flexibility to respond to the room.

Can You Provide Ceremony Sound?

Ceremony sound can be added to a reception booking. The exact setup depends on the ceremony location, access, power, officiant, music plan, and whether the ceremony and reception require separate systems. Those details should be confirmed before the final plan is built.

Can You Help Build The Reception Timeline?

Yes. Timeline planning is a major part of the service. Jason helps organize introductions, dinner, toasts, special dances, cake cutting, and the move into open dancing so the event has a workable sequence rather than a pile of isolated start times.

What If The Schedule Changes During The Wedding?

Real receptions move. Dinner may take longer, photographs may finish early, or a participant may need a few extra minutes. Jason coordinates with the people involved, adjusts the sequence when needed, and makes announcements only when the next moment is actually ready.

Will You Work With Our Planner, Photographer, Caterer, And Venue?

Yes. A reception works best when vendors share the actual order, cues, locations, and changes. Jason coordinates the moments that affect the microphone, music, guests, and timeline while respecting each vendor’s responsibilities.

How Far Do You Travel?

Service may include Cheyenne, Estes Park, the northern suburbs, and the Denver metro area. Package pricing includes travel up to one hour one way from Loveland, Colorado. Travel beyond one hour one way is subject to additional charges. The broader coverage area does not mean travel is included for every venue. Include the venue and city when you inquire.

Do You Only Work At McC Ranch?

No. McC Ranch receives special attention because Jason has unusually deep experience and media from that venue. Northern Colorado DJ serves a broad range of venues and cities across Northern Colorado and the Front Range.

How Does Pricing Work?

Reception coverage is $1,000 for up to five hours of reception. Ceremony sound adds $300, making the combined package $1,300 for up to six total hours beginning with the ceremony. The booking deposit is $500 for reception only or $650 for the combined package. Travel beyond the included one-hour one-way boundary and any event-day additional time are separate.

Can We Pay The Booking Deposit In Installments?

The booking deposit is $500 for reception only or $650 for ceremony and reception. You may pay it all at once or in two installments. The first installment is $200, genuinely reserves your date, and is credited toward the booking deposit. Another inquiry does not displace a valid paid reservation or accelerate its payment deadline. Booking is complete when the agreement is signed and the full booking deposit is paid.

The full booking deposit is due no later than six months before the event. After the $200 first installment, the remaining deposit is $300 for reception only or $450 for ceremony and reception. You may sign the agreement and complete the deposit earlier. For a first booking made less than six months before the event, the agreement and full $500 or $650 deposit are required at booking; a separate $200 installment period is not available.

What Happens If We Miss The Deposit Deadline?

If the six-month deposit deadline is missed, Jason will contact you and allow three business days to complete the agreement and deposit before releasing the date. If the booking is still incomplete, the reservation ends and the date may be released. The initial $200 is retained as booking deposit if the date is not subsequently rebooked. If someone else subsequently books the released date, all money you paid is refunded, including that $200.

When Is The Remaining Balance Due?

The remaining package balance after the full booking deposit is $500 for reception only or $650 for ceremony and reception. You are welcome to make payments toward that balance as the event approaches, but the package must be fully paid before or on the event date.

What Happens If We Cancel?

If you cancel and the date is not rebooked, the booking deposit is retained, but any additional advance balance payments above the booking deposit are refunded. If the canceled or released date is subsequently booked by anyone else, all money you paid is refunded, regardless of cancellation timing. The replacement booking does not have to be at the same price. Refunds that are due are processed promptly after eligibility for the refund is confirmed.

Can We Add Time On The Wedding Day?

Extra time cannot be contracted for in advance. Extra time can only be added on the night of the event. It is sold in 30-minute increments at $100 for each additional 30 minutes, paid when requested before the additional time begins. It is subject to venue availability and permitted end times and can never extend beyond midnight. Paying for additional DJ time does not override venue rules, contracted venue hours, noise restrictions, or availability of the space.

What Should We Include In Our First Inquiry?

Share the wedding or event date, venue and city if known, whether you need ceremony sound, the approximate guest count, and anything important about the reception you already know. That is enough to check the date, travel, basic coverage, and fit without making you complete an oversized questionnaire.

What Is Wedding Timeline Master?

Wedding Timeline Master is Jason D. Rogers’s wedding-reception planning book. It explains the behind-the-scenes thinking that helps formal events, announcements, vendors, and dance-floor pacing work together. The book resource area expands those ideas with practical planning articles.

Ready To Ask About Your Date?

The first step is availability. If the date, location, and coverage needs are workable, the next conversation can focus on the kind of reception you want guests to experience.
